Significance of Soft skills:

As IT services have become increasingly global, communication, the most important component of soft skills, is touted to be the life and blood of any organization and a prerequisite to effective management. Effective communication not only enables work place interactions but also routes the flow of information and knowledge for the guidance of employees in different levels in their organizational activities. It also ensures free flow and exchange of information, opinions and ideas and promotes maintenance of professional relations. With the Information Technology revolution and socio-economic changes in today's competitive world, it is no exaggeration that the importance of efficacious communication skills has increased than ever before.

Unquestionably, good writing and speaking skills are essential in securing a job. It is also true that some technical skills are as important as communication skills but knowledge of technical skills will be of less use if one does not know how to communicate the information and the yields that result from the use and applicability of these technical skills. Similarly, skills in team playing, problem solving, 3 adopting appropriate business etiquette, understanding one's own emotions and those of others, etc., have become essential in today's globalized work places.

However, despite realizing the importance of soft skills, graduating students in India have not been able to equip themselves adequately with such skills. The reasons behind such inadequacies may partly lie with the students themselves and partly with the colleges from which they graduate. Students who enter the IT industry are mostly engineering graduates. If we look at the engineering education, over the recent past, high demands for engineering education have led to serious issues and concerns for the engineering colleges. The IT MNCs (Multi-National Corporations) are of the view that such concerns emerge chiefly because the fresh graduates lack technical skills, English proficiency, communication skills, presentation skills, soft skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Career3S'Training Model includes all modules that most of the companies consider for aptitude test i.e.Quantitative ability, Verbal, Logical Reasoning. Our program makes sure that every module is mastered by the student which leaves them with no option than clearing the aptitude around of the recruitment process. As part of the course, students get practice exercises and test papers for each test module followed by the comprehensive tests on the pattern of the tests conducted by major companies.To prepare the student for the next stages, i.e. Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), a classroom orientation is conducted on basic communication skills, GD and Interview basics, followed by MOCK GD and Interview. Weprovide intensive training for Group Discussion and interview by conducting multiple rounds of GD and PI.

Introduce Our Intern: Provide a good introduction to the organization, quirks of the culture, and important people or resources to be aware of. We may also consider arranging an informational interview for our interns with fellow colleagues to help them prepare for a future career within the industry.

Communicate: Communicate often with our intern, whether it is to provide feedback, offer training, or to check in on their progress. By keeping the lines of communication open, you can get a sense of how quickly interns complete projects, and help the intern receive feedback for the quality of her work.

Integrate Our Intern: Allowing our intern to gain a greater understanding of our organization can help your intern generate new ideas and have a more rewarding internship. Consider bringing them to meetings, conferences, trainings and networking events with you.

Delegate Projects for Downtime: When delegating projects to your intern, consider mixing short-term and long-term projects. If interns finish tasks early, they will have a long-term project on which they can take the initiative to continue.

Set S.M.A.R.T. Learning Goals Together: Discuss the marketable skills your intern can learn or hone through the internship experience and help him or her set S.M.A.R.T. goals in order to achieve them. We feel free to use any form of learning "contract" we already have-or we use the form provided for our student at the internship class.

Our Objectives:

Interns' work must be performed while the student is enrolled in an internship course. ● An internship should be a significant position with a strong communication-related component typically required to work in any one or a combination of the following fields: IT / Non-IT / Core / Manufacturing / BFSI / PSU's. ● The experience must give the student an opportunity to explore career development issues and interests. It should involve substantial interaction with professional staff and/or supervisory personnel who can discuss the organization's vision, goals and objectives with the student. ● The job performed at the internship site should not entail more than 25% clerical work. ● Work must be performed in a work-place/business environment-not in a private home. Freelance work does not qualify for a credit-bearing internship. ● Interns are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week over a ten-week period.Ideally, they should start working on or before dates that coincide with the Academic Calendar. ● The position must be supervised by a paid professional within the organization. In addition to helping students learn skills needed in their chosen field, the supervisor must be willing to spend time working with the student on job-related issues and answering basic questions about company culture, work environment, career paths and other related topics.

Every fall student come back from summer vacation with experiences to share and stories to tell. Ltd works towards development of research based software, embedded/electronics and mechanical systems for research & development purposes. With rapid growth in technology and innovation, Career3S has now the largest collection of software, mechanical as well as electronics based self -learning kits and more systems being researched every month. Due to this we now serve these kits in Hyderabad.

Career3S develops these self-learning kits for researchers, students, corporate's, institutes and enthusiasts to help in technological research & development. We develop innovative and unique software as well as electronics based systems & machines that can be used to automate various needs/tasks. Our systems are built to automate work from various sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, defence, biomedical as well as domestic sector. 1. Choose a good cause for your student project

International competitions and awards provide the best opportunities for students to focus their creativity on good causes, helping to address various issues at the local, national or international level. They also provide a chance to work on the implementation of the most innovative ideas and projects.

We have realized that many organizations and companies at different levels offer awards or support for young people to contribute to these projects. With the right approach it is always possible to combine students' work with interesting projects.

We work on a range of projects related to sustainable development in developing countries as a part of their coursework on sustainable development. We always encourage them to think about the practical side of case studies and consider the implementation of their student projects.

2. Be creative... but stay focused

One of the most difficult parts of student projects - and any project in real life - is to find an innovative solution for problems around us. Paradoxically, it is not so difficult to identify large-scale global problems; however, it is a challenge to scale them down to make them manageable for student teams and for implementation with a very limited budget.

Very often students think too big - at a very large scale - and promise to move mountains. The real skill in innovations, including social innovations, is to see the big picture and identify an angle or smaller target problem for a creative solution.

3. Choose an appropriate angle and make it applicable

The secret of any creative thinking lies in the ability to identify the right combination of effort and resources - finding a good solution at minimal cost. Very often this approach requires a different look at already widely used materials and resources. It is also essential to choose an appropriate angle that is applicable in a particular environment - city or rural, high intensity or low intensity, etc.

4. Remember presentation and planning are essential

Just finding an interesting and innovative solution is not enough. There are two important aspects to consider and address: style of presentation, and timing. Very often brilliant ideas are not appreciated when they are not written in the language of the grant/award requirements or "investment angel" views on innovation, so it is obvious that you need to do a little homework before submitting an application.

It is really essential to prepare a high-impact presentation, project summary and description, which is tailored to your project funding or supporting organization according to their published requirements. In our case it was really a challenge to write a comprehensive three-page summary for a 30-page project report. And we had to write it under an extremely tight deadline - in fact we almost missed the deadline because we did not carefully read all the requirements and conditions right at the beginning. We learned the hard way about focus and timing!

The major objective of campus placement is to identify the talented and qualified professionals before they complete their education. This process reduces the time for an industry to pick the candidates according to their need. It is a cumbersome activity and hence majority of the companies find it difficult to trace the right talent. Many students do not understand the importance of placement training that is being imparted, whether it is an aptitude training or soft skills.They show the least interest in this due to various factors viz., projects, assignments or more of activities loaded by the colleges as part of their curriculum thinking that it is not useful. It is the responsibility of the companies training on placement to make the students equipped on all aspects of career development along with creating a very good impact in them which makes them feel every minute they spend in the placement training session is worth being there and will help them in getting placed in their dream companies.

The placement session for any MNC generally has 3 - 4 rounds. The first round is the written test, consisting of quantitative aptitude, reasoning (logical ability), English (verbal ability) and Major subjects of basic domain areas such as C, C++, Data Structures, Algorithms, DBMS, OS, Networks, etc.,

For few MNCs, you might also have a coding round, which is sometimes taken as a separate round and sometimes is clubbed with the written test. Further rounds are interview rounds, the first two usually being the technical round and successive rounds being the HR round.
